“Minute-Repeating Dress Watch” Patek, Philippe & Cie. Genève, No. 137593, case No. 252170. Made in 1906. Very fine and rare, 18K gold, Art Deco, keyless, minuterepeating pocket watch with three-tone sector dial. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives. Four-body, “bassine”, polished. Hinged gold cuvette. Threetone, sector, silvered, applied gold Arabic quarter-hour numerals, baton indexes, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds. Gold “Feuille” hands. Notes The multi-tone sector dial is an excellent example of the Art Deco design. The contrasting polished and matte surfaces are reminiscent of the chrome and frosted glass objects which were considered to be the height of fashion. The clarity of the dial is also typical of the Art Deco desire for clean lines.
