Fine and rare, ultra-thin, 18K yellow gold gentleman's wristwatch with the original Rolex strap and yellow gold plated buckle. Two-body, solid, polished, screwed-down case back, straight lugs, linen textured bezel and lugs. Champagne with applied yellow gold bâton indexes. Yellow gold "bâton" hands. Cal. 650, rhodium- plated, 18 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, self-compensating flat balance-spring. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 32 mm. Thickness 5.5 mm. Notes Reference 9780 is a rare “ultra-slim” watch with textured bezel and lugs, non-Oyster screw down back and was produced in gold only from 1960-1963.
