“Ref. 4537” Rolex, ‘’Oyster, Chronographe, Anti-Magnetique", Ref. 4537. Case No. 470718. Made in 1946 and retailed by Serpico Y Laino. Very fine and very rare, water-resistant, stainless steel gentleman's wristwatch with round button chronograph, registers, tachometer, telemeter and a stainless steel Rolex buckle. Two-body, solid, polished and brushed, screwed-down case back and crown. Matte silver with applied gold Arabic numerals and dart indexes, subsidiary dials for the seconds, the 12-hour and 30-minute registers, outer painted telemeter and tachometer graduations. Gilt “baton” hands. Notes This reference was produced in 1946 only, in stainless steel as well as 14K and 18K yellow and pink gold , and can therefore be considered one of the rarest production references by Rolex for its Oyster chronographs. The rarity of the present watch is enhanced by its dial bearing the retailer’s signature. This watch is illustrated in “Rolex, Collecting Wristwatches”, by Osvaldo Patrizzi, 2001 Edition, pp. 426,427
