French, 20th Century. Matched pair of French Provincial style fauteuils, each with a cartouche shaped padded back carved with shell and foliate crest, joined by padded arms over a serpentine seat, raised on molded cabriole legs headed by floral carving and ending in scrolled toes. Both covered in creamy, acanthus scrolled gold silk. Height 37.5", width 24.75" (arm to arm), seat depth 21", seat height 17".
