“Two-Day Marine Chronometer” Ulysse Nardin, Locle, No. 2363. Made circa 1930. Fine, mahogany 2-day marine chronometer with 56-hour power reserve indicator. Three-body, with brass handles, all the edges protected by heavy brass inlay, the glazed upper section with hinged lid. Brass bowl and gimbaled suspension. Silvered with Roman numerals, outer minute ring, subsidiary seconds and up-and-down indication. Brass “spade” hands painted black. Cal. 83 mm, gilt brass, full plate with baluster pillars secured by screws, 13 jewels, fusée with chain and maintaining power, spring detent escapement, 2-arm bimetallic compensation balance with cylindrical weights and 2 meantime adjusting nuts, free-sprung polished steel helical balance spring with terminal curves, diamond endstone. Dial, case and movement signed. Dim. Bowl 112 mm., box 19 x 19 x 19 cm.
