Very fine, keyless, skeletonized, 18K yellow gold pocket watch with chronograph and register. Three-body, “etui”, solid, polished, black onyx-set windingcrown. Skeletonized with matte silver subsidiary seconds and 30-minute register ring dials, outer minutes and fifths of a second divisions. Black “baton” hands. Cal. 19’’’, gilt brass, skeletonized and hand-engraved, 21 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometer regulator. Case and movement signed. Diam. 51 mm. Notes Gérald Genta born in 1931, from an early age he showed a talent for drawing and painting. He began designing watches in 1952. In 1969, after having designed many of the “best sellers” of the Swiss watch industry, including Audemars Piguet’s “Royal Oak”, Omega’s “Constellation” and “Seamaster”, and Patek Philippe’s “Nautilus”, he founded his own brand. In 1998, he sold his company and brand name, but returned to horology in November 2000, when he created an entirely new line of watches under the name Gérald Charles.
