Very fine and rare, astronomic, self-winding, 18K yellow gold gentleman’s wristwatch with 48-hour power reserve, date, moon phases and a Patek Philippe buckle. Accompanied by the original box and certificate. Three-body, solid, polished, hinged case back to view the movement, rounded bezel, straight lugs, gold screwed bars, sapphire crystal. White with painted radial Roman numerals, subsidiary dials for the seconds at 4, the days of the month and an aperture for the moon phases at 7, a sector graduated for the up-and-down indication between 10 and 11 o`clock. Burnished steel “spade” hands. Cal. 240/164, stamped with the Seal of Geneva Quality Mark, rhodium-plated, “fausses côtes” decoration, 29 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, Gyromax balance, shock absorber, self-compensating free-sprung balance spring, mobile stud bearer, 22K gold microrotor mounted on ball bearings. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 35 mm. Thickness 10 mm. Notes Ref. 5054 Production of this reference started in 1999. Its predecessor, Ref. 5015, had an aperture for the moon phases, which was framed by a very accurate age of the moon sector. However, for Ref. 5054 the age of the moon indication was replaced by a date ring.
