Very fine, center-seconds, self-winding, water-resistant, stainless steel gentleman's wristwatch with a stainless steel Oyster bracelet. Three-body, polished and brushed, screwed-down case back, graduated bi-directional revolving bezel for the decompression times, "Triplock" winding-crown protected by the "Crown Guard". Black with luminous round, triangular and bâton indexes. Luminous steel "skeleton" hands. Cal. 1520, rhodium-plated, 26 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock absorber, self-compensating flat balance spring. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 40 mm. Thickness 14 mm. Notes Ref. 5513 The Submariner, was launched with “Crown-Guard” in 1959, and was only produced in stainless steel and remained in the Rolex Catalogue until 1990. This reference has been the choice of many of the world’s elite military forces. It is said that the two things that give away a member of the U.S. Special Forces identity are his sapphire ring and his Rolex Submariner.
