“Onyx Boule Desk Clock” Zenith, Le Locle, No. 78962. Made circa 1935. Fine and unusual, Algerian onyx, bezel-set and wound, eight-day going desk clock with power reserve indicator. Bowed square turned base, semi-circular socket to fit the free-moving ball case. Matte gilt, with black Dauphine numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds, aperture for power reserve indication. Black “arrow” hands. 65 mm., copper colored, “fausses côtes” and “oeil-de-perdrix” decoration, going barrel, 11 jewels, straight line lever escapement on a separate platform, cut bimetallic compensation balance with screws, blued steel Breguet balance, index regulator, bezel winding and hand-setting. Dial, case and movement signed. Dim. 20.5 x 20.5 x 13 mm.
