Fine, oversized, water-resistant, stainless steel gentleman's wristwatch with pink gold movement and a stainless steel D. Dornblüth buckle. Accompanied by a fitted box. Sterling silver with black finish, luminous Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds dial. Luminous "spade" hands. Cal. C. 99.0 (2), 3/4 plate, pink gold, “fausses côtes” decoration, 18 jewels, 4 in screwed gold chatons, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock absorber, selfcompensating flat balance spring, “swanneck” micrometer regulator, engraved balance bridge. Dial and movement signed. Diam. 42 mm. Thickness 11.5 mm. Notes Dieter and Dirk Dornblüth are a father and son team of master watchmakers, working in Saxony’s Kalbe. In 1999 they developed a movement, based on the 1959 design of a caliber Dieter drew as a young watchmaker. Made in the best Glashütte tradition with 3/4 plate and gold chatons, their firm’s small watch production proves that passionate watchmakers can perpetuate their craft and create handcrafted precision watches without high-tech CNC machinery.
