“Class A Chronometer Deck Watch” Rolex, “Class A Chronometer – Observatory Quality – Contrôlée Officiellement”, Ref. 35. Made in the 1940s, Fine and very rare, steel “Snowhite”, chronometer deck watch in a 4-body mahogany case with brass-bound corners, the interior of the lid mounted with a plaque with the Rolex logo and listing the “Class A” achievement. Three-body, reeded covers, case back engraved with a train. Double-sunk, two-tone white and offwhite enamel with large painted Arabic numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds dial. Blued steel “spade” hands. Cal. 550 in “Class A Observatory Quality”, rhodiumplated, 21 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, “swan-neck” micrometer regulator. Dial and movement signed, case numbered. Diam. 52 mm.
