Emons & Cie. Buenos Aires, “Globe Clock”. Made circa 1910. Fine and rare, brass, 8-day going table clock in the form of a terrestrial globe. Stepped circular base with applied signature plaque, pillar with cast decoration to the terminals, the rotating plaster globe with paper gores and mounted on a tilted axis, driven through gearing from the base, curved rod with brass ball representing the moon. Silvered chapter ring aligned with the equator, Roman numerals and indexes for the half- and quarter-hours. Semi-circular adjustable strip attached to the globe with pointer to indicate the time. Circular, brass, going barrel, lateral lever escapement on a platform, index regulator. Height 40 cm. Notes The metal strip for indicating the time can be adjusted if so desired so that it lies over the place in the world where the clock is situated.
