“Two-Day Marine Chronometer with Subsidiary Compensation” Arnold & Charles Frodsham, 84, Strand, London, No. 1538. Made circa 1850. Very fine and rare, mahogany, two-day going marine chronometer with subsidiary compensation and power reserve indication. Later, brass bowl with screwed-down glazed bezel, gimbaled in a three-tier mahogany box, the central section with inset ivory signature plaque, glazed top and hinged lid, brass handles. Silvered, with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds, power reserve indication below 12. Gold "spade" hands.
