“2-Day Marine Chronometer” Ulysse Nardin, Locle, No. 5904. Made circa 1940. Fine, mahogany, 2-day marine chronometer with power reserve indication and ratchet key. Three-tier, with brass handles, brass-bound corners, the glazed middle section with hinged lid. Brass bowl and gimbaled suspension. Silvered with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary dials for the seconds and power reserve indication. Black painted "spade" hands. Cal. 65 mm., frosted gilt, 15 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, micrometer regulator, diamond endstone. Dial, case and movement signed. Dim. Bowl 88 mm., box 14.5 cm. square.
