“Platinum Minute-Repeating Split-Seconds Chronograph” Patek Philippe & Co, Genève, No. 198107, case No. 414218. Made in 1927, sold on February 12th, 1943. Very fine and extremely rare, minute-repeating, platinum dress watch with split-seconds chronograph, register and a Patek Philippe box. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives. Three-body, “bassine”, brushed, the back cover engraved “F. A. Slack, Harrisburg, Penna”, bolt at 11 to lock the chronograph. Brushed silver with applied platinum Breguet numerals, outer minute track and concentric fifths of a second divisions, Arabic five minute/seconds numerals, subsidiary seconds, 30-minute register. White gold “Breguet” hands. 37 mm., 17’’’, rhodium-plated, “fausses côtes” decoration, 40 jewels, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with 8 adjustments, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometer regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 47 mm. From “The Collection” Notes Patek Philippe watches with minute repeating and split-seconds in platinum cases are extremely rare. This is a magnificent example of one such watch, in excellent condition.
