To be sold without reserve Outer: two-body, back with translucent imperial blue enamel over engine-turning, pearl-set bezel terminated with white enamel band. Inner: two-body, “bassine”, polished. White enamel, radial Arabic numerals, outer minute dot divisions. Gold “arrowhead” hands. 36 mm, hinged, frosted gilt full-plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, steel balance with flat balance spring, single-footed cock. Signed on the movement. Diam. 49 mm. Property of a French Collector Notes This is an excellent example of the English luxury watch from the end of the 18th century with typical English settings for the pearls, and deep and exquisite engine-turning under the enamel, areas in which the English excelled.
