White Gold “Jump Hours” Breguet, No. 1262. Made in 1926 and sold to Mr. Haïtas on January 18, 1928, for 6,000 Francs. Very fine, rare, and elegant, Art Deco square, 18K white gold gentleman’s wristwatch with jump hours. Accompanied by a certificate. Two-body, square, brushed, wire lugs. Square, matte silver, outer minute track with Arabic five-minute numerals, aperture for the jump-hours with Arabic numerals. Blued steel minute hand. 10’’’, rhodium-plated, “fausses cotes” decoration, 18 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Dim. 26 cm. square. Property of an Italian Gentleman Notes Breguet jump hour wristwatches from the Art Deco period are extremely rare. We know of only three: two models with a central revolving disc bearing an arrow for the minutes with the hour appearing in an aperture in the arrow (after R. Cart), and the present lot, featuring the classic system.
