"Platinum Tonneau Dessous Or" Cartier, Paris, No. 13800. Entered in the registers on October 31, 1923. Very fine and extremely rare, large, curved, tonneau-shaped, platinum and 18K yellow gold wristwatch with an 18K white and pink gold "grains de riz" bracelet with concealed deployant clasp. Tonneau-shaped, brushed and polished, platinum upper section, yellow gold back. Oval matte silvered with sunray engine-turning, radial Roman numerals, inner minute track. Blued steel "épée" hands. Notes It is interesting to note that the Cartier registers specifically mention "platinum tonneau dessous or" that the case is platinum and the back is gold.
