Ref. 6087, Yellow Gold “Cornes de Vache” Vacheron & Constantin, Genève, No. 470084, case No. 373268, Ref. 6087. Made in 1960. Very fine, rare and important, water-resistant, 18K yellow gold gentleman's wristwatch with flat bezel, round button chronograph, register, and an 18K yellow gold Vacheron & Constantin buckle. Two-body, solid, polished, screwed-down case back, overhanging “cornes de vache” lugs, dust cap. Matte silver with applied yellow gold baton indexes, subsidiary seconds and 30-minute register, outer minute track with fifth second timing scale. Yellow gold baton hands. Cal. 13’’’-492 rhodium-plated, "fausses côtes" decoration, 19 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, beryllium balance with timing screws adjusted to temperatures, Breguet balance-spring. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 35 mm. Thickness: 12.5 mm. Property of a Swiss Gentleman Notes This is the only example of this reference with a flat bezel. According to the Vacheron Constantin archives, a total of only 36 examples of Reference 6087 were produced from 1954 to 1959. Of these, 26 examples were in yellow gold, eight in pink gold, and two in platinum, made on special order. Various types of dials were used for these watches: with telemetric scale; with tachometric scale; and without scale.
