“Large Bulle Electric Clock” Bulle Clock Co. , France, No. 187134. Made circa 1925. Fine and rare, large, wood-cased wall regulator with patent electromagnetic pendulum. Rectangular, molded cornice carved with leaves and berries, the body and door carved with foliage, molded base. Offwhite with black Paris numerals, outer minute track, brass borders, cut-away center to reveal the escapement. Blued steel “spade” hands. Patent brass movement with electromagnetic pendulum. Dial and movement signed. Dim. 44 x 27 x 15 cm. Property of a French Gentleman Notes The Bulle clock was invented by M. Favre-Bulle and was produced in France from c. 1920. It proved to be a popular and successful clock, many being sold in the UK. Production continued up until c. 1954; around 300,000 units were made.
