“Master Clock” Léon Hatot, Fabricants, Paris, (ATO), No. 200096. Made circa 1937. Fine, electric “master” precision wall regulator with center seconds and half-second pendulum. Rectangular, black patinated body, chromed bezel, slave connections on the top. Square, two-tone, champagne chapter ring with black Art Deco numerals, outer minute and seconds track. Black “baton” hour and minute hands, red center seconds hand. Half-second electromagnetic pendulum activating the electrical contacts, micrometer adjustment, two coils. Dial and movement signed. Dim. 41 x 22 x 8.5 cm. Property of a French Gentleman Notes The Hatot master clock has a half-second pendulum which activates contacts to the left and right. At each alternate swing, these contacts transmit a current directly to the coil of one or more clocks with quarter-second beating pendulums that do not have their own contact systems. As such, they are synchronized with the master clock and each secondary clock receives an impulse at each oscillation of the master clock’s pendulum.
