Very fine and rare, large, minute-repeating, 18K pink gold, hunting-cased keyless pocket watch with split-seconds chronograph. Four-body, “bassine et filet”, polished, heavy. Hinged gold cuvette, glazed gold-rimmed cover to view the movement. White enamel, three-piece, with radial Arabic numerals, outer minute track and seconds divisions, red painted Arabic five minute/seconds numerals, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel “spade” hands. 43 mm., 19’’’, rhodium plated, “faussescotes” decoration, 31 jewels, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band, visible chronograph mechanism. Diam. 55 mm. Notes The present watch has the distinctively shaped quarter-hour hammer and depression in the repeat slide that are features of the work of the Louis Audemars firm.
