Glashütte Original, “Prince’s Palace of Monaco”, Pièce Unique. Notes German luxury watch manufactory Glashütte Original is supporting the exceptional charity project ONLY WATCH 2007 with an exclusive unique piece. The precious collector’s piece Prince’s Palace of Monaco displays Monaco’s palace perfectly painted onto the paper-thin Meissen porcelain dial with the greatest craftsmanship. This unique timepiece is being donated by the Saxon watchmakers for the auction taking place on September 20, 2007 during the 17th Monaco Yacht Show. Results of the auction will go to research for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Perfect German craftsmanship has had a long tradition at the Glashütte Original manufactory for more than 160 years. The highly complicated watches of the manufactory’s famous founders made the company well-known throughout the world and its handiwork a part of German watch culture. The manufactory’s social commitment far exceeds maintaining the art of watchmaking: for the Saxon manufactory, retaining tradition and values also means assuming responsibility for future generations and providing hope.
