Three-body, "Empire", the back enamel panel finely painted with a bouquet of early summer flowers over a blue ground, the bezels, pendant and bow set with split-pearls. Gilt-rimmed glazed cuvette hinged to the movement ring. White enamel with narrow radial Roman numerals and outer minute and seconds divisions, outer Arabic fifteen-minute numerals. Blued steel "ovoid" hands. Mirror-polished steel, Chinese caliber with free-standing barrel, Jacot duplex escapement, bimetallic compensation balance with blued steel "wings", blued steel flat balance-spring, index regulator. Dial and movement signed, case signed in Chinese characters. Diam. 55 mm. Notes The finely painted enamel flowers on the present watch are almost certainly by the same artist as that on a watch by Bovet sold by Antiquorum, Hong Kong, June 2, 2007, lot 313. The flower paintings by this artist are of high quality and feature flowers less commonly found on these enamels, such as the Arum Lily and Primroses of the present watch.
