Ref. 6075 “Super-Oyster” Rolex “Oyster Perpetual, Officially Certified Chronometer” with “Super-Oyster” crown, Ref. 6075. Case No. 699747. Made in 1950. Very rare and fine, tonneau-shaped, center-seconds, self-winding, waterresistant, 18K pink gold chronometer wristwatch, with date and an 18K pink gold Rolex Jubilee bracelet dated 1951. Two-body, polished, screwed-down case back, “Super-Oyster” winding-crown, reeded bezel. Matte silver with applied faceted pink gold dart indexes, luminous dots, outer minute/seconds divisions and aperture for the date with alternating red and black Arabic numerals. Luminous gold "alpha" hands. Notes Ref. 6075 replaced the reference 4467. The “Super-Oyster” winding crown was an attempt by Rolex to create a waterproof winding crown which did not need to be screwed down. While the system worked, the rubber seal tended to perish over time; thus this crown type was phased out after only a few years of production.
