Very fine and rare, square, 18K yellow gold wristwatch with triple date, lunar calendar, moon phases and an 18K yellow gold Audemars Piguet buckle. Two-body, square, solid, polished and brushed, teardrop lugs, correctors on the band. Matte silver with applied yellow gold faceted baton indexes, inner date ring, subsidiary dial for the seconds, apertures for the days of the month, months and moon phases, the age of the moon at the edge. Yellow gold baton hands. 9 1/2’’’, rhodium plated, fausses-côtes decoration, 18 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance with 8 adjustments, self-compensating blued steel Breguet balance-spring, index regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Dim. 25 x 25 mm. Thickness 8 mm. Notes This elegant and compact model, with its pleasingly small dimensions,was chosen by Cartier in the late 1940s to be presented to their clients who desired a complicated wristwatch.
