“Art Deco Two-Tone Case” Vacheron & Constantin, Genève, No. 396215, case No. 7768. Made circa 1925, the case made by Verger Frères. Fine and elegant, thin, 18K white and yellow gold keyless dress pocket watch. Three-body, polished, the band of yellow gold. Brushed gilt with blue radial champlevé Roman numerals, outer minute track. Blued steel “Breguet” hands. 15’’’, rhodium plated, 18 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with eight adjustments, flat blued steel balance spring, index regulator. Dial and movement signed, case with the Verger Frères mark. Diam. 45 mm. To be sold without reserve Notes Ferdinand Verger (1851-1928) the founder of the Verger firm, he was a jeweler and watchmaker who in 1879 became Vacheron & Constantin’s French agent. Verger’s creations are among the most original of the Art Deco period.
