“Calendermeto” Movado, Swiss, “Calendermeto”, No. 1250/498M. Made circa 1950. Fine, crocodile leather-covered gilt metal keyless purse watch with triple date calendar and moon phases. Three-body, polished, crocodile leather-covered, folding strut on the back with dedication, ring suspension loop. Two-tone silver with applied gold Arabic numerals, dot and triangle markers, outer minute track, graduation for the days of the month, apertures for the days of the week, the months and the moon phases. “Alpha” hands. Cal. 155, rhodium-plated, 15 jewels, lever escapement, monometallic balance, self-compensating Breguet balance-spring. Dial, case and movement signed. Dim. 50 x 35 mm. Notes The “Ermeto” watch by Movado was developed by Huguenin Frères, Le Locle, and patented in Germany on October 12, 1926, DRP No. 443 555. The origin is from the Greek language, and means “sealed”.
