“Wandering Hours” Swiss. Made circa 1820. Fine and unusual, 18K gold, wandering-hour pocket watch with quarter repeating. Four-body, “Empire”, Mastermark ”DP”, the band with a star and lozenge repeated pattern, the back engine-turned in a swirling pattern with a central vacant cartouche. Hinged gilt cuvette. Gold dial mask engraved with cupid standing on top of the globe, his arrow tip forming the minute pointer, another figure above in a quadriga holding an arrow to indicate the hours, classical architecture at each side, "wandering" numerals with gold radial Roman hour chapter, silver minutes chapter with Arabic numerals and dot markers.
