“Two-Day Chronometer” Winnerl, No. 392, circa 1845. Fine and rare, mahogany, 2 day-going marine chronometer with power reserve. Brass bowl with glazed bezel secured by two screws, gimbaled in two-body mahogany box with glazed round window in the top under sliding lid, brass handles, corner plate for a key with original fluted-handle brass key, key lock in front, gimbal ring locked by single arm protruding through the ring and boss on the bowl. Silvered, radial Roman hour numerals, outer minute ring, Arabic seconds on subsidiary dial at XII o’clock, up-and-down indicator at VI o’clock. Blued steel, Breguet hands. 63 mm, brass full plate, turned pillars, secured by screws, fusee and chain, Earnshaw spring-detent escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with two round weighs and four screws, blued-steel free sprung helical balance spring with outer terminal curves. Signed on the dial, numbered on dial and box. Bowl 8 cm in diameter, box 15 x 15 cm. To be sold without reserve
