Extremely rare and fine Art Deco 18K yellow gold and black enamel gentleman's wristwatch with concealed dial. Accompanied by an 18K pink gold Cartier deployant clasp. Two-body, solid, polished, bezel with black enamel radial Roman numerals, when sides are pressed two shutters open revealing the dial, black enamel and gold hooded lugs. Matte silver with painted minute track. Blued Stell “Spade” hands. Notes This type of watch was initially destined as a purse watch. A few of them (the 'Bébé Guillotine') have been adapted by Cartier into wristwatches for the English Market. Approximately 50 pieces of this kind were modified by Cartier Paris (French hallmark), were sent to Cartier London (import and date English hallmark), and were sold there in the 1930's. We emphasize here that Cartier Paris also produced some under the denomination 'Bracelet-Montre Bébé Guillotine'.
