Extremely fine, rare and important, extra large, chrome-plated Observatory chronometer with transparent back, one of 88 examples made between 1925 and 1930 for inclusion in Observatory trials. Accompanied by the original Bulletin de Marche from May 15, 1930. This watch is sold with a box, Certificate of Authenticity and 2-year Omega guarantee. Three-body, massive, polished, screwed-down transparent back and bezel. White enamel with painted black Paris numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel “spade” hands. Cal. 60.8, frosted maillechort, 23 sapphire jewels, Guillaume balance with gold timing screws, blued steel balance spring with Philipps terminal curves. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 74.5 mm. Notes Caliber 60.8 was made in 88 examples, from 1925 to 1930. This caliber was intended solely for Observatory trials, where it performed exceptionally well.
