“AVIATOR” Omega, No. 74266625, case No. 8228771, Ref. CK 700 AD. Sold on 9th January, 1935 to the German Wehrmacht. Fine and very rare, round, Staybrite aviator’s dustproof wristwatch with elapsed time indicator. This watch is sold with a box, Certificate of Authenticity and 2-year Omega guarantee. Three-body, solid, revolving stepped and reeded bezel with dart hour marker, wire lugs and ball crown, screw-down case back, snap on cuvette. Black enamel with luminous bold Arabic numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary dial for the seconds. Luminous steel “skeleton” hands. Cal. 35.5 S T1, nickel-plated, 15 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 41 mm. Thickness 15 mm. Property of a Swiss Gentleman Notes This is one of the rare examples of a watch sold by Omega to the German War Ministry beween the two wars. Omega’s policy during the war years was not to supply Germany with watches, as they were suppliers of the Allied forces.
