Rolex Ref. 4127 - Athlete Rolex, “Oyster, Athlete”, case No. 212872, Ref. 4127. Made circa 1944. Fine and very rare, water-resistant, center seconds stainless steel wristwatch . To be sold without reserve Two-body, "Empire" type, polished and brushed, double inclined bezel, screwed-down case back and crown, thick band, straight lugs. d. Silvered, with luminous Arabic numerals and outer minute/ seconds divisions. Luminous blued steel Skeleton hands. Cal. 710, 10 1/2’’’, rhodium-plated, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, Superbalance, self-compensating Breguet balance- spring, index regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 32 mm. Thickness 12.5 mm. Notes Reference 4127 was produced in stainless steel only, its massive case is inspired by that of the earlier “Empire” references 3548 and 3716. The calibre 710, 10 1/2’’’ was produced between 1944 and 1951.
