Singing Bird Box With WatCh 254 Attributed to Raymy’s, No. 604. Made circa 1930. Fine and rare, gilt and enamel, singing bird box incorporating a keyless watch. Accompanied by the original fitted box and a key. Two-body, rectangular, rounded corners, engine-turned, borders engraved with flowers and foliage, the top with a Royal blue guilloche enamel on silver panel painted with en-grisaille flowers, front set with the watch, the oval bird cover engraved with a floral bouquet. d. Two-tone oval matte silver and gilt with painted radial Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions, inner and outer engraved borders. Blued steel lozenge hands. Watch: signed Roseau Watch Co., Swiss, 10 ½’’’, rhodiumplated, 15 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with 3 adjustments, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. The singing bird: 90 x 48 mm., rectangular brass, going barrel and rectangular bellow, the revolving bird with moving wings, beak and tail, controlled by two cams mounted beneath the barrel wheel, gilt brass grill pierced and engraved with flowers and foliage.
