Patek Philippe Platinum Ref. 3429 – One of Only Two Known Examples in Platinum– Recently Discovered Patek Philippe, Genève, movement No. 1112661, case No. 2621526, Ref. 3429. Made in 1962, sold on July 15th, 1963. Very fine and extremely rare, one of only two known examples in platinum, selfwinding, water-resistant, platinum wristwatch. Accompanied by the original Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin and the Extract from the Archives. Two-body, solid, polished and brushed, screw-down case back, stepped inclined bezel, straight curved lugs, recessed crown. Matte silver with applied white gold baton indexes, subsidiary seconds dial, outer minute divisions. White gold baton hands. Cal. 27-460, stamped twice with the Seal of Geneva quality mark, rhodiumplated, fausses cotes decoration, 37 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, Gyromax balance adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions, shock absorber, selfcompensating free-sprung Breguet balance spring, 18K gold rotor. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 35 mm. Thickness 9 mm. Notes Until the recent discovery of the present watch only one other example in platinum – movement No. 1113000, case No. 2621528 - was known to exist. The survival of the original Certificate of Origin is exceptional and confirms the platinum case and silver dial with “index relief”.
