Exact Time Omega, “Chronometre – Exact Time”, No. 3809167, case No. 6386710, Model: BB 120 JS. Made circa 1925. Very fine and extremely rare, brazilian rosewood cabinet chronometer. To be sold without reserve Two-tier, rectangular Brazilian rosewood box, the interior of the hinged lid set with a chromed plaque inscribed “Chronometre Omega”, hinged wooden fascia with stepped brass bezel, large winding crown at 3 o’clock, applied plaque beneath the dial inscribed “Exact Time”, screwed-down stainless steel back. Matte silver with black Paris-style Arabic numerals, outer minute track, recessed centre, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel Breguet hands. Cal. 19’’’, LOD NN “Leader”, frosted gilt, 23 jewels in screwed gold chatons, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index with graduated snail regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Dim. 14.5 x 13 x 5.5 cm. Notes Ship and cabinet chronometers by Omega first appeared in 1914. The BB 120 JS model was available with the “Exact Time” plaque in four different languages: “Heure Exacte”, “Exact Time”, “Ora Esatta” and “Ora Exacta”. Very few of these chronometers have survived; the present lot is in original unrestored condition.
