Omega, "Fab. Suisse", movement No. 9388061, case No. 9978645. Made circa 1940. A very fine and extremely rare, stainless steel Staybrite wristwatch with olive-shaped button chronograph, 30-minute register, tachometer and telemeter scales, and a steel Omega buckle. Three-body, inclined bezel, curved lapidated lugs, snap-on case back. Black with painted gilt Arabic numerals, outer minute and 1/5th seconds divisions, outermost copper-color tachometer graduated to 400 units/hour, inner with telemeter and copper-color base 1000 scale, subsidiary guilloché dials for the constant seconds and the 30-minute register. Gilt feuille hands. Cal. 33.3, rhodium-plated, 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, self-compensating blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 37.5 mm. Thickness 12.5 mm. Notes The dial of the present watch features an intriguing design incorporating a black background with three slightly contrasting scale colors. Thus, in spite of the complex indications of the tachometer and telemeter scales, the contrasting colors make the dial highly legible and easy to use. The design, with its combination of colors and the overall excellent original condition of the dial make this a highly attractive watch that will appeal to all collectors, even the most experienced.
