Louis XVI & Marie Antoinette Antoine Melly, No. 3403. Made circa 1780. Fine 20K gold and painted on enamel pocket watch. Two-body, “Louis XVI”, the bezel chased and decorated with champleve enameled leaves and white berries, the back with a finely painted on enamel profile portrait of Louis XVI and Marie- Antoinette, outer gold bead border and outermost border decorated to match the bezel. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer dot minute divisions and Arabic fiveminute numerals. Pierced gold hands. 31 mm., giIt brass, full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, plain three armed brass balance, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel endpiece, silver regulation dial. Dial and movement signed. Diam. 40 mm.
