Five-Minute Repeating & Split-Second Chronograph Tiffany & Co. , Genève, No. 78232, case No. 78232. Made circa 1888. Very fine, 18K pink gold, five-minute repeating keyless pocket watch with splitsecond chronograph and 60-minute instantaneous register. Four-body, "demi-bassine", polished, concealed hinge, slide for locking the chronograph at 11 o’clock, button for split-seconds between 10 and 11. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Breguet numerals, outer minute and fifths of a second divisions, outermost red Arabic five-second numerals, subsidiary seconds and 60-minute register. Black steel spade hands. 41 mm., 18 ½’’’, three-quarter plate, 32 jewels, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swanneck micrometer regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band, chronograph with a visible work. Dial, case and movement signed Tiffany & Co. Diam. 50 mm.
