Singing Bird Box with Watch Attributed to Raymy’s, No. 693. Made circa 1930. Fine and rare, silver-gilt and enamel, singing bird box incorporating a keyless watch. Two-body, rectangular, rounded corners, side panels overlaid with translucent red guilloche enamel, borders engraved with stylized foliage, front set with the watch, the oval bird cover decorated with a painted on enamel scene of an Alpine lake view. Oval matte silver with painted graduated Arabic numerals. Blued steel lozenge hands. Watch: signed Inula Watch Co., Swiss, 10 ½’’’, rhodium-plated, 15 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with 2 adjustments, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. The singing bird: 90 x 48 mm., rectangular brass, going barrel and rectangular bellow, the revolving bird with moving wings, beak and tail, controlled by two cams mounted beneath the barrel wheel, gilt brass grill pierced and engraved with flowers and foliage. Movement and case numbered. Dim. 99 x 64 x 40 mm.
