Sterling Silver Aviator’s Watch Longines for Wittnauer, No. 5442792, “Weems” second setting watch. Made circa 1933. Fine and very rare, large, center seconds, sterling silver aviator's wristwatch with a 21” long leather strap. Four-body, solid, polished, hinged case back and sterling silver lunette, ball-shaped winding-crown, pull out to set the center dial time. White enamel with painted Breguet numerals, outer minute track, at the centre a revolving matte silver dial to adjust the time in seconds. Blued steel Breguet hands. Cal. 18.69 N, rhodium-plated, 15 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, selfcompensating Breguet balance-spring, micrometer regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 48 mm. Thickness 17 mm.
