Fine and very rare, varicolored gold, enamel and rose-cut diamond-set pocket watch with dual date calendar and an 18K varicolored gold, enamel and rose-cut diamond-set chatelaine. Two-body, Louis XVI, bezel with a repeated pattern, the back with a royal blue translucent enamel center applied with a rose-cut diamond-set monogram “JMY”, wreath and ribbon border set with rose-cut diamonds. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer gold dot minute indexes and Arabic fifteen minute numerals, subsidiary dials for the date, days of the week and seconds. Gold beetle and poker hands. 37 mm., gilt full plate, fusee and chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, threearm brass balance, pierced and engraved continental balance cock, regulator with engraved index on the backplate. Diam. 46 mm. Notes It is rare to find calendar work in a French watch of this period, especially with the very unusual feature of subsidiary seconds.
