Very fine and very rare, large, 18K pink gold keyless dress watch with pink Breguet dial. Accompanied by a fitted Patek Philippe box and the Extract from the Archives. Three-body, “forme collier”, polished bezels and brushed band and back, circular pendant, the back engraved “A Jean Peron, Ministre Plenipotentiaire Consul General de France a Geneve, Souvenir de Quelques Amis Genevois Janvier 1942”. Brushed pink with champleve Breguet numerals, pink gold dot indexes, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel Breguet hands. 17’’’, rhodium-plated, fausses cotes decoration, stamped twice with the Seal of Geneva Quality Mark, 18 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometer regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 50 mm. Notes This watch is a particularly beautiful and well preserved example of a Patek Philippe dress watch, the large diameter combined with pink Breguet dial is in perfect harmony with the pink gold case. Jean Peron was the French Minister Plenipoteniary who was based in Geneva during World War II. This position is roughly equivalent to Ambassador, plenipotentiary meaning that he had full powers to represent the French government.
