Rectangular brass plates, going barrels for the going and striking trains, barrel for the alarm train, lateral lever escapement on a large matte gilt platform, notched bimetallic compensation balance with temperature and meantime adjustment screws, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator, striking and repeating on two bells with two hammers, strike selection lever in the base. Dial and movement signed. Dim. 13.7 x 10 x 8.8 cm. Property of a French Collector Notes This clock is of very high quality and has two unusual features, the subsidiary seconds and the striking which may be termed "half-grande sonnerie" because the hours are struck on the hour, and the hours and quarters only on the half hour and not at each quarter as is usual in a grande sonnerie clock. The tone of the bells is clear and light.
