Girardier l'Aîné - Watch with Concealed Erotic Scene Girardier l'Aîné, (Paris), No. 19969. Made circa 1810. Fine and very unusual silver pocket watch with a concealed painted on enamel erotic scene. Three-body, "forme quatre baguettes", polished. Small eccentric enamel with Breguet numerals, gilt brass dial plate chased with foliate decoration, Cupids on oval small silver panels on each sicle of the dial and above a circular silver panel chased with a pastoral scene of a sleeping maiden, a sheep lying at her feet, opening to disclose a painted on enamel scene depicting a maiden presenting to her little dog "un morceau de choix". Gilt brass Breguet hands. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece.
