Gabus – Grande Sonnerie Clockwatch with Trip Minute-Repeating for the Russian Market W. Gabus, Locle, No. 4652. Made for the Russian market, circa 1890. Fine and very rare, two-train, Grande Sonnerie striking and trip minute-repeating with three hammers on three gongs, 14K rose gold, hunting cased, keyless pocket watch. Four body, "bassine", engine-turned with polished borders. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel, with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds. Gold spade hands. Notes This type of minute-repeating Grande Sonnerie clockwatch movement with three gongs with three stacked hammers but without Petite Sonnerie, were usually made by Zenith and follow César Racine’s Swiss patent number 18543 (for grande sonnerie).
