Anonymous, Swiss, No. 14454. Made circa 1900. Very fine and elegant gold, enamel, diamond and pearl-set, bezel wound and set ball form pendant watch with a matching gold, enamel and diamond detachable brooch pin. Accompanied by a fitted box and letter attesting provenance. Two-body, blue enamel with gold star motif, the bezel and top set with diamonds, the band set with pearls. The brooch gold with blue enamel in the shape of a ribbon and a crescent set with diamonds. White enamel, blue and red Arabic numerals, outer minute track. Gold spade hands. Notes The present lot is accompanied by a letter from a previous owner dated April 18, 1959. The letter describes how the watch was rescued during the Boxer Rebellion by a confidant of the Empress "Hsii," likely a reference to the Empress Dowager Cixi
