Fine, rare and unusual, 4-sided, steel and gilt brass, 8-day going desk clock in the form of a lantern with barometer, thermometer and hygrometer dials. Lantern-form, revolving on a bracket and U-shaped base, the sides with dials for barometer, thermometer and hygrometer, circular stepped finial. Brushed gilt with engraved black upright Roman numerals. Steel baton hands. Rhodium-plated, fausses cotes decoration, 15 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, selfcompensating flat balance spring, index regulator. Dial signed Hermès. Dim. 28 x 13.8 cm. Notes This desk clock for Hermès, with four dials, is extremely rare. An almost identical clock but without weather station was sold by Antiquorum, Geneva, November 13, 2010, lot 424, for 15,625 Swiss Francs.
