It may have been a special order by the friends of the original owner who gave him the watch on his birthday. This watch was gifted to noted Swiss car collector Peter F. Baumberger, heir to a Swiss brewing dynasty. Mr. Baumberger, who passed away in 2009, owned some of the world's greatest Ferraris, including some 250 GTB4’s and 250 TDF. He and two of his friends founded the Swiss Ferrari Club in 1972.
